Gentilli discovers the Trestles of Vancouver island
Working on some new pieces for my next exhibition of my imaginary photographic art which will come out of a trip to Vancouver, Canada. I rather fell in love with the pioneering railway spirit and especially the trestles that the trains used to cross the valleys that rather predominate Vancouver island. These extraordinary bridges , all man made are structures that i am looking forward to working on as part of a new series of images all about this theme of travel, pioneering and the man made built environment. Wood wood wood!

Sand prints
This is my most recent artwork. Just up in time for my Open studio at wimbledon art studios which is on now today 10 May.
It started in Margate when I went to see the Turner gallery newly opened and I was struck by these footprints in the sand. By repeating them i have created a walkway through the landscape and the footprints go in no particular direction. Sometimes elevated and sometimes raised in relief and there are even some really natural prints as well. The sand echoes and repeats in a myriad of colours. This latest imaginary artwork is special as it moves away from the beach – that quintessential British thing and becomes a journey into the mysterious. I guess for me the architecture is in the footprints. The mystery in wondering whose they are and where they are going!
